About
Malenka Ropert (from Sydney, lives and works in Melbourne) is an interdisciplinary artist experimenting with capturing and archiving experiences through video, sound and performance. She creates events that exist as interventions in public spaces. The Audience is Present (RMIT, 2018), Dress ( Testing Grounds, 2018 ), Moments ( Chelsea School of Art, London, 2019 ), The Audience is Looking ( RMIT, 2019 ) and Dis/connect: history a moment ago( RMIT, 2019 ) act as open-ended scenarios that blur the boundaries between the observer and observed to encourage audience participation. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from RMIT and will commence Honours at RMIT in 2020.
